Lauren Borden is a California-based artist who enjoys integrating vibrant colors into her creations. As a full-time Fine Arts major at California State University, East Bay, she is enhancing her craft and artistic skills with a commitment to exploring the vast forms and styles of creativity. Specializing in acrylic and oil painting and sculpture, Lauren is known for her incredible talent in infusing deep meaning into every brushstroke and sculpture.
Lauren is passionate about sharing her experiences with mental health through her art. She hopes to provide a sense of being seen, heard and comforted to those who view her work. Lauren aims to foster a deeper connection and understanding among her audience through her creations.

My Artistic Journey
Creating art is a deeply personal and meticulous process for me. I am passionate about crafting intricate scenes and designs. My work often features vibrant, saturated color palettes and floral elements. Recently, I have delved into creating realistic portraits set against colorful backgrounds. Although portrait painting is a newer endeavor, I enjoy challenging myself as an artist and am quickly gaining experience and expertise.
My artistic journey is deeply intertwined with my struggles with mental health. Each piece I create marks a milestone on my path to understanding and healing. Diagnosed with multiple mental disorders in my youth, I have found comfort in my art. Through my creations, I can authentically express my inner world with courage and vulnerability. The acts of painting and creating are my safe place, where joy and peace flow through me, even amidst life's storms.
Through my art, I invite viewers into my life's narrative, sharing the raw and authentic emotions that shape my existence. As I continue on my artistic journey, I aspire to reach new heights, connect with more people, and foster healing—both for myself and others—through the profound power of artistic expression.
